Advice:
Keep your hands clean, which is virtually impossible to get/keep young kids to do this. Don’t have young kids! 
Mine haven’t gotten my sick yet, this year.
I’d suggest keeping “baby wipes” in the car for cleaning hand at atm, after shopping, etc.
I also discourage people from overdoing it with the use of anti-bacterial cleaners on everything. These will kill lot’s of bacteria, but it will also leave the area more vulnerable to drug resistant bugs, which are the ones that are most dangerous. As a society, we’ve overdone the fight by overusing our weapons and helping to ensure a more dangerous pathogen, with resistance to our arsenal is left behind.
