The Republicans said the same thing when Bill Clinton was elected, they were wrong. He (and republican Newt Gingrich) balanced the budget and help fuel the longest economic expansion in US history. In Brasil, Lula, a socialist has strengthed the ecomony by keeping a lid on the government. Let’s hope you turn out to be wrong and they surprise you with a rational approach.

I’m guessing this change in government has more to do with Iraq than domestic Aussie politics. Another example of how anyone who signs up with George Bush will pay the price at home.
