If I was an affiliate, I would stick to that because I believe it’s easier to create a niche that for an operator.
Using Microgaming/Playtech etc does not guarantee anything as (Dominique said 
) you are competing against established brands.
Also, software platforms operate their own skins so its impossible to compete as you are paying out operator costs too.
Plus, you need a hefty infrasture and plenty of cash to make it a success. Look at Mansion for example, spent a fortune and are still trying to gain a foothold in the market.
I would stick to unique quality content of affiliate sites
