It was great meeting you out there Shane and I know what you mean with the broken Spanish. Man do I have to learn the language! It was quite tough getting around – On my way back to the hotel one day I ended up on at ‘Placa Catalonia’ instead of ‘Hotel Catalonia – Barcelona Plaza’. hahaha.
I tried to tell the taxi driver I was in the wrong place, but he kept pointing to the hotel in Placa Catalonia (which was another Hotel Catalonia) – so I got out 
Then I hailed another taxi with a map I obtained so that I could point out where my hotel was!
Fun times! I am definitely learning basic language structure at the very least next time I venture there.
