I have some domains with private registration and still receive the domain renewal notices. The domain registrar has your information, the public just doesn’t have access to it.
As for the infringement notices – I believe the respective legal team can send documents to the domain regsitrar to obtain your information for legal purposes, or have it forwarded onto you, although I could be wrong.
