Speed limits are artificially low, too. Even if they were close 30 years ago, modern cars and roads are built so much better today. I don’t think they were close 30 years ago.

Now, if someone doesn’t want me driving above a certain limit in their neighborhood, then that would be fine. I would totally respect it if I knew that a neighborhood set a speed limit. Those sorts of fines should go into a fund for victims of accidents, insurance, or anything besides feeding the monster that creates, enforces, and profits from them.

Roundabouts… nice, except when they are small, with multiple lanes, and heavy traffic. Hell, most of the stoplights out there are only needed during certain hours. That’s one good thing about lights… that they can be programmed to make sense. (even though they rarely are.)
