That is what we call subconscious marketing. You nail the subconscious part of the mind with that kind of popup. It just comes so fast, and right in the middle of your screen. You don’t even think about it before clicking YES. A percentage of the visitors will just click it. They will hit it before anything. They don’t even know why they clicked yes, they have no idea if that is even where they want to play. Of course the sites that use it have more signups. The conversion ration is likely the same, but they do have more signups. When people search the site and feel it out, they make a conscious decision. This gets them before that. This kind of popup just drags in people hardly paying attention, a bit more unaware. Many sites feel that it is too much. Yes, it has been a trademark of Pacific/888. I think Absolute has done it. It brings in an extra edge for sure.
