My afterthoughts on the 2 Saturday games…

My thoughts on the Philly/New Orleans game…

Basically that pic sums it up

I feel totally robbed, the best team lost

When Philly was up 21-13 late i really thought the game was going to be a rout for Philly, unfortunately the NFL’s unfair officiating policy came into effect.

I really feel cheated, and even worse, i thought it was deliberate

As a result i lost a lot of respect for New Orleans, which was totally uneccessary, i thought they played good and if they beat my team straight up i would tip my hat to them, but i just can’t do that now

When Philly was up 21-13, every single penalty went against them from that point to the end of the game…

1-20-PHI39 (2:21) D.Brees sacked at PHI 46 for -7 yards (T.Cole).
PENALTY on PHI-D.Jones, Illegal Contact, 5 yards, enforced at PHI 39 – No Play.
1-10-PHI34 (1:57) D.McAllister left tackle to PHI 11 for 23 yards (S.Brown, B.Dawkins).
1-10-PHI11 (1:11) D.Brees pass short left to D.McAllister for 11 yards, TOUCHDOWN.

That call(which nobody, including replay managed to see)gave New Orleans the lead

1-10-NO42 (15:00) J.Garcia scrambles right end ran ob at NO 22 for 20 yards (J.Bullocks).
PENALTY on PHI-B.Bunkley, Offensive Holding, 10 yards, enforced at NO 42 – No Play.

Another 4th quarter penalty which only one highly suspect official saw cost Philly 30 yards, and the flag was thrown after Philly completed the big pass play

(1:56) (Shotgun)
PENALTY on PHI-S.Young, False Start, 5 yards, enforced at PHI 44 – No Play

This last one was a joke, they called it no play after the play was over and Phily converted the 4th down pass play, normally on this call they would blow the play dead before the ball is snapped.

Aside from that, New Orleans was getting away with holding all game long, if you watch the Bush TD run, he got to the outside because his lineman was holding the Philly player, actually had him locked in an armbar.

Anyways, that game really left a bitter taste in my mouth, watching New Orleans get gifted a trip to the NFC Championship game like that

My thoughts on the Bal/Indy game…

If you told me Indy would score 0 TD’s in this game i’d say yeah, that’s what i thought too, if you told me a team can score 0 TD’s in a playoff game and still win it i’d think you were nuts

This game was over for me before it even started, the coin toss was the turning point

Baltimore won the coin toss and elected to receive the ball, this was a critical mistake, if your defense is your strength then let them go out there first and set the tone for the game

By going 3 and out on their first possession Baltimore immediately took their own fans right out of the game from the start and gave Indy confidence, and they were never able to unchange it.

How a meathead like coach Bilick ever won a Super Bowl i will never know, he is the goat of the week so far

Which brings me to my Coach bashing rant

Reid(Phi) – You need not coach any longer buddy, with just over 1 minute left in the game, Reid elects to punt instead of going for it on 4th down, basically conceeding the game without even trying, he did something very similar towards the end of the Super Bowl 2 years back, he just booted everyone’s dreams away knowing he would never see that football again, as anybody with basic math skills could have figured out. Although i can’t blame him too much, i might have done the same, just boot it away, what’s the point of trying anyway, the refs are never gonna let you win this game anyway.

Payton(NO) – Coach of the year ?, this guy, are you serious, he made some good calls and outsmarted Philly a few times, but he is a flake, he takes unnecessary risks for no reason at all, like that call at the end where Bush fumbled, there was no need for it, just hand the ball off, he was so close to being the goat of the year and traumatizing his superstar rookie for life, similar thing at the end of the first half where he escaped on sheer luck alone, with that botched punt, just take the clock down to halftime, the game was virtually a tie at 14-13.

Bilick(BAL) – Undisputed goat of the week, and even worse, had the nerve to put the blame on his players for his crappy play calling, lost so much respect for this guy yesterday

Dungy(IND) – Turned out to be the genius of the week, i didn’t know he had it in him, Dungy succeeded where guys like Cowher(PIT) and Schottenheimer(SD)had failed, some people may not realize exactly what he did to negate that Baltimore pass rush, the pass rush was there for the entire game and they got pressure on Manning and forced turnovers, etc, but Dungy(Moore) managed to get his QB an extra second by calling a lot of designed roll out plays and shifting the line, avoiding 1 on 1 power confrontations which would not have been favourable for Indy, which was basically all he could do. It shouldn’t be that much of a surprise, Indy was the 2nd best team in the world last year(coming closest to beating PIT in the playoffs), even though i thought Baltimore was just gonna crush em anyway, Speaking of PIT, Dungy and OFF Co-ordinator Moore were both part of that Super Bowl winning Steeler dynasty during the 70’s.

Overall, i want a rematch between Philly and New Orleans, that’s the first thing, double or nothing, the Saints weasel out a home win, so many things bothered me about that game, one example, Philly is drving the ball down the field with a lot of momentum, when suddenly the game is interripted and they bring out the NFL Punt/Pass/Kick kids, WTF, are you kidding me, i snapped, you do that shyite at half-time, they made me curse out these poor kids, and of course it payed off for New Orleans, their defense got a rest and stopped Philly from retaking the lead, like a KO’d fighter getting saved by the bell.

I think it’s pretty safe to conclude New Orleans is going to the Super Bowl after that shtick, the league/refs seem to really like them

Round 2 today

It’s ok, go 2/3 today and it’s money, even after going 1/3 day yesterday, i’m not worried at all, i’m the playa, the brotha from the field, not the stooly bookie, and my boyz are gonna bring the goods home where they belong, i just can’t get over how every bounce, and other stupid liitle thing went against me yesterday, without doubt, the most irritating day in recent memory, i hate it when that happens, it’s like the gods have conspired against me and elected to punish me.
