I’m waiting for my email conf to finish registering so I can vote a Digg for it.
I think I’m begining to get the idea behind backlinks. On sites like Digg since you write links into the text you are establishing that one way link to a given site right?
What are google site maps……? I know it’s a pretty newbie thing to ask, but once somebody tells me it will be one less newbieism I have 
Yupperz, kinda like gooner said, Sitemaps are files stored in your shell that kinda direct google around, just a list of images, generally .xml for google, .txt for yahoo 
My favorite lil sitemap proggie (free, and easy to use) is softplus g-sitecrawler, it actually build both yahoo and google sitemaps, stores a copy of them to your pc and uploads them to your site .. Kinna groovy
