Even though Microgaming originates from South Africa, they are no longer based here as a company. They formed a local software development house called Derivco(httpx://www.derivco.co.za) that just develops the software, with Microgaming in the UK being their “Client”.
Same goes for some of the casinos that originate from here. They just “outsource” their call centers and marketing departments while the actual casinos operate from coutries that welcome casinos like Antigua.
As for South Africa licensing of online casinos, i believe it will take years before this happens. In the mid 90’s they started talks of legalising the land based route market (slots in bars and clubs etc), and only awarded the licenses a couple of years ago.
