mmm … those threads are interesting …
From the pokermagazin site you linked to above …
On one hand we have Harrah’s making a big statement …
Quote:
Harrah’s Entertainment – the owners of the WSOP – has officially announced that they will not allow online poker rooms to buy tournament seats.
Then a statement about the scale …
Quote:
This year 75% of the 8.773 players in the Main Event secured their seat through online qualification. In 2007 not a single online qualifier will be allowed in, and no exception will be made.
But look at this statement about the enforcement procedure …
Quote:
The only way to get a seat at the tables in July will be to either pay the $10,000 entry fee or win one of the official WSOP satellites played live in the days leading up to the Main Event itself.
Err .. all the seats were paid for – Harrah’s didn’t donate them.
It seems to me that they’ll simply organise these in a different way – you won’t win a seat at the WSOP – instead you’ll win a trip to Vegas – a room in the hotel and $10,000 in spending money ….
:hehe:
