Doyle Brunson was just on Our World with Cavuto. One of his quotes. “I hate this bill and I think the Republicans have done themselves in, and I’m a Republican”.

I feel like I’m coming in to crap on alot of threads recently. I don’t mean to. I just see a huge problem when people decide to vote for one party or another without paying attention to the underlying issue.

The underlying issue being, that none of these people are like you, or care to hear what you have to say. When this system was set up, your representatives cared about what their individaul constituents thought and at least listened to them. That just isn’t there anymore. None of them are representative. None of them read anything you write to them. They’re all elite, regardless of what they tell you. If you’re elite, you’re having dinner with them. Otherwise, you’re out of luck.

Do you think this is strange?

– Frist taking money from gambling interests?
– Effects on those interests?

It isn’t even a little strange. If people in congress aren’t making money other than their salaries, then they are just waiting until they have enough clout to do so. You can follow all sorts of legislation and come to the same conclusion. That’s just how the system works at the present moment. Yeah, it’s slimy, but it’s hardly limited to this particular issue.

They do care about re-election, but I can tell you… anything that happens in November will NOT be attributed to anything online gambling related. What will the media cover? They will cover war, economy, terrorism, security, and whatever else the the elite decide to talk about or hammer on. It won’t be online gambling.

The only way to change that is to tell anyone you talk to that you are voting based on that one issue. Convince them that you know many people who are voting based on that one issue.

Otherwise, none of them really care what you think, and it’s about time that you get used to it.

I think this particular issue will be seriously undervalued and lost in the mix of a bunch of other things.
