Yes, it’s a sinking ship.. the casino operators are the women and children getting off safely while their affiliates, the old men, are left aboard. The problem is they punch another hole in the side of the ship as each one deboards, and affiliates lose confidence in the industry they supported for years.

The absolute worst scenario is that the DOJ is already prepared to begin implementing and enforcing the bill. If true, the 270 day cushion that everyone believes they have will dissappear, and the ship will sink very quickly. This may be why many casinos are departing now.

There will certainly be more announcements this week leading up to the bills passage (IT WILL PASS), and then everybody will have to wait until Monday to see who is definately in the US market, and who is out. And then, we will have to decide if this is an industry that we can all support, or do we just jump ship into the unkown icy waters.

Three options:
1. Only promote casinos that do not permit U.S. residents to play.
2. Promote all casinos, and hope to stay off the radar of the DOJ.
3. Get the hell out

Like the casinos, we affiliates have to keep aprised of all new developments, and make our own decisions. I would love to wake up tomorrow, and think this was all a dream, but it’s not

Oh.. and professor, you cracked me up with “The Safe Toilets Act” – is that the one where we all have to use a maximum of three squares of paper per sitting

as always, just my two cents
