I have to take exception to this. The casinos certainly do not advertise worldwide – in fact, I am reasonably certain that 99% of the world’s population outside North America would not be able to name any casino in Vegas except for Caesar’s Palace (though Wynn and Sands can now make a case for being recognized outside the US).
In my opinion, the land-based casinos actually stand to lose from the new legislation. I’d need to go back and find the figures but I am sure that land-based casinos actually made MORE money over the last few years – especially with the online poker boom re-energizing the nearly dead poker scene in Vegas.
