Isn’t there something called a line item veto? Doesn’t Pres Bush have the option the strike the Gambling language from the bill and pass the security measures that really matter? This would force congress to actually debate the issue and override the veto.
Of course, if he does have that authority, he’d probably never do it. Unless he received 10 million emails over the next few weeks.

That makes sense. Lawmakers can put unreasonable stuff on legislation, but the Pres cannot take it off. Fruckin figures!
