hey, i’ve been getting the same emails requesting link exchanges with a PR4 or PR5 site. Is that guy’s name “whinny”? It sounded supicious and I didn’t do anything yet.

Some of the request were through LinkMachine and some were submitted via my sites. I didn’t pay much attention to the person’s name, just checked out the site and didn’t feel comfortable and kindly said no thank you. I always check out the site, make sure the link directory is accessible from the home page, try to determine it the link page is on there server, etc.

webber286 – thanks for the link to the site I’ve saved it for future reference. Unfortunately I don’t remember the site names that requested the link, but will use the tool next time there’s a doubt.

allfreechips – You are correct, the page with the link is not in the index but has a PR which is exactly what is confusing me. In order for it to have a PR wouldn’t it have had to be indexed at some point? And if that is the case, why would it no longer be indexed? Because it was dropped? That wouldn’t be a good thing either would it?

Thanks everyone for the replies.
