It’s not just the Internet. I always tell people to go read newspapers. That’s where all these “Internet stats, ideas and rules” come from–Journalism.

Most newspapers are under $1 on weekdays. Grab one and pay attention to layout. One the front page you’ll see an impact headline, a great lead in and a “link” to continue reading.

If you feel your content is solid, jazz it up with pictures. Again, look at many printed news stories or magazines. All text would be dull and usually that format is reserved for very serious industries (WSJ comes to mind). A picture is worth 1,000 words as the adage goes. Good placement of great pictures can really jazz up a piece.
