What you did was ok but you should’nt of received any CPA until your new players made a deposit as well so the site can at least have the opportunity break even.
I did the same with a poker site but I’m not on the CPA. I took the chance that a % of these players would convert based on how well they liked the site. I have now after 4 months broken even and the conversion players are still converting
