On your site, your own uniquely created content is better.
Your rotating content idea will kinda work as well. In the sense that you are changing the content of at least one page, then the search engine spiders are likely to revisit more frequently.
It won’t help you rank higher unless you have optimized content for them to get their teeth into, though. But getting the spiders back every day or so has value in itself.
