Update —
Unfortunately, I had to cancel the domain.
Here’s the story.
NETeller, as you may know, has had a few security issues lately. I recall reading somewhere on CAP about someone having $2,000 stolen from their account.
One of my sites (which promoted casinos that accept NETeller) popped up on the radar of some anti-phishing organization.
After talking with GoDaddy’s abuse department, it appears that no “actual” phishing took place via this site. This leads me to believe that someone submitted a false claim to this organization simply because they didn’t like my site competing with their own.
Thanks for that, whoever you are.
Anyway, NETeller is very sensitive to security issues right now (due to the recent security breaches), and they wanted to resolve the phishing complaint by having my site taken down permanently — even though, as I said before, no actual phishing was taking place.
GoDaddy agreed that the situation was unusual. They suggested that I comply with NETeller’s request by cancelling the domain. I didn’t like the idea, but I also didn’t think it would be wise to wage a battle against NETeller.
So…. that site is history. :baaa:
