The Senate doesn’t have alot of time to get this bill through the
Committee and then onto the floor. Also, it is an election year,
and I’m not sure that any of those senators up for re-election,
really want to vote on record for or against this right now.
The Senate plans on tackling the “rights of detainees” in Guantanamo
Bay once they return from the Summer break. So.. hopefully, this issue
will take up all or most of the remaining 30 days or so of their session.
