Any one who dared accuse eCogra of shielding 888 from the same fate as Jackpot Factory, was set on by the self serving “if only I could get another rep point crew”. I’ve got the scares to prove it.

I also have a problem with the rep points over there myself, particularly the “thank you” system. Seems to me that it chokes free speech and honest discussions. How does it inhibit free speech: I believe it sways the nature of the posts. Definitely there are people who will modify their posts in order to earn a “thank you”. It pretty much narrows the affiliate threads into what amount to rather juvenille and ‘cliquesque’ popularity contests, and I don’t think popularity contests have any place in frank business discussions.

Results: People who have differing opinions are indirectly encouraged to remain quiet. People who don’t know what’s going on post anyway – on the popular side – to earn brownie points. Of course, some do post what they think – in length – if they agree with the majority.
Therefore, I don’t believe you get an accurate impression of how the majority of people are feeling.
The system may be fine and even add some fun for the player side of things, but it’s not neccessarily appropriate for business discussions.
That is why I prefer to discuss business here at CAP.
