I have seen this sort of stuff before. Some sites nest there head tag further down on the page. So when a visitor goes to view the source there appears no be nothing there, just a simple message at the top of the notepad. The message can be anything, but if you scroll down the source code will be there. Its a little trick some sites use.
Another tatic used for a more aging site is a combination of the technique mentioned and the whole source is encrypted, but not make for a bot friendly site.
Sometimes you browser setting might view source in different ways. With a IE browser under view there is a option called “encoding” try selecting a different option to see what you get. There are alot of ways of pulling these tricks off. greek39
