the folks from the US are notorious for not allowing anybody to come into their home and dictate anything.

I know I feel very strongly about such, and I think most others are same.

Yes its true we’ve allowed our freedoms to be whittled away, but I think what many fail to add into the recipe is the American’s nearly infinite ability for apathy is not to be mistaken for their willingness to give in to pressure from the govt over a matter which (I think) nobody is going to truly take serious until such time that a few people are given serious sentences for having broken the law.

At which time (I think) people will start to realize that they can’t just stick their heads in the sand without either giving up a favorite hobby or risk being the next martyr to go before the chopping block. Thus the people’s mood will be made to be known to their elected officials and then I imagine they’ll start the process to make it legal and regulated but in the meantime I just don’t see it ever becoming an offense where they’ll come to your house and drag you out to be incarcarated.

and if you are allowed to access websites that tell you how to make bombs, drugs or perform abortions (don’t ask, I don’t know if they exist, I’m just shooting from the hip … but I’d bet they do) then they damn sure better have a better excuse for keeping me from accessing a gambling site than the ones they’re giving now.

I think the public would raise all sorts of hell about any kind of censorship.

my 2cents.
