LOL. I’m sure you would. However what ppl need to remember is that “affiliates” have more of a “necessary evil” badge to a lot of people. And for every good affiliate there are 10 more churning out useless spammy websites with out-of-date, often misleading information and directions to bad apples in the hope of a “quick buck” and these people probably a) won’t be interested and b) won’t be taken seriously if they were. In fact are more of a hindrance than a help IMO.
Then you’ve got all this turmoil with affiliates on one forum slagging off affiliates in another forum going on. I’ve seen at least four gambling-based forums like this recently. Affiliates airing their dirty linen in public can seriously undermine any attempt at creating impressions of unity and professionalism.
That said, well run forums like CAP can help bring some unity and make decisions that can influence not only affiliates, but the businesses they represent in a more professional manner.
Screaming, shouting and threatening don’t help our cause. Solidarity and well-planned tactical manoeuvres do. The Profs PP Accreditation removal is exactly the sort of professional move that gets noticed and kudos to him for that. Last year, the community joined together to rebuff the moves by some affiliate programs and got the point over in a professional yet serious enough manner.
As someone said earlier, the best you can do is vote with your feet and post professionally stating the fact and the reasons for the action IMO.
Cheers
