hi, actually a home server uses the same software that the commercial servers are using.. the big difference is the amount of traffic DSL can handle. From what I see here the majority of the people starting off would not come close to overload, you can actually running game server with around 40 players at once with no problem. As soon as traffic got that large I move would move to a commercial site. As far as six dollars a month pretty much I would think you get what you pay . By new to this I meant affiliate programs. I was just wondering if anybody here has their own server set up at home. And if they had any problems. You can run a server on the same computer you using to view this forum at the same time. As far as costs is just like when you buy car. A cavalier or Corvette your choice.
