I beg to differ, what do big companies do? hire a outside server to host their site? most do not for security reasons. A home based server is about as secure you can get it. Dos attacks? not if you do your homework, your home server can run Linux. Linux has been breached once. I run a cold fusion server for years without no problems.
By having your own server the risk of malicious hacks are limited. I personally never had one a attack. Once you do have one there is no problem obtaining PHP, MySQl ect… all you have to do is connect from your server to theirs.
I don’t like to just come out and say it, I don’t want people to get any ideas about operating your own server, but good a idea.
Once you have one you will know why. Read up on it I guarantee you will find some interesting info. greek39
