i recommend a little chat to anyone whos trying to get his online gambling site listed in the DMOZ :] he’ll be able to tell you more – and i am sure you will meet a lot of them guys who have actually never got the pleasure of having their sites listed there…
its mainly SEO value that the links have, not the visitors – hence the price quoted. Even if i’m wrong – let assume the worst case scenario: what is the market price for a link from 1,5 yrs old site with PR5? There is no single way its going to be cheaper then $50 – ESPECIALLY with the limited number of outgoing links from the sites.
sure creating a new domain would be easier – but its gonna take you 1,5 yrs to have your site where mine now is (still assuming you’ll get listed in DMOZ, which may honestly be a challenge :])
isnt that something now?
