It’s even worse here in New Zealand …
All sorts of rules and regulations, social security taxes, huge sick leave provisions, occupational health and compliance, enforced parental leave (that the EMPLOYER MUST PAY), impossiblity of dismissal.
We have a “left of centre” government that seems determined to ram through a whole raft of social engineering changes – complete with the rapid growth of a beauracracy … and most of the costs seems to have been levied upon the employer …
Seriously … I don’t ever see myself employing anyone in New Zealand except on rigidly defined contract work. The compliance costs are a killer !!
