Think of it this way. You are not solicitating online gambling but merely providing information on the subject. I am willing to stand up to the legal process, afterall it won’t be me paying for it. In fact, 90% of actual microgaming casino received their licenses from a Canadian Indian reserve. I do realize the soverienty reserves have which makes them able to so.
But if you operate a gambling information site that is on a non Canadian server I think prosecuting highly unlikely. If our local phone company (mts) can provide information on poker tournaments why can’t you advertise you site?
I am sure there exists plenty of printed information about online gambling in Canada. These sorts of issues are complex. Apparently its illegal to gamble online in Canada. Now think for a moment, this would violate our constitutional rights, the right to privacy. The government can’t regulate what happens in our bedrooms nor can it regulate what a person does online in the privacy of their own homes. The only time there may be an exception is when you cause personal harm to another.
Keep in mind you are offering information and not service. I am targeting my city I am sick of the monopoly the provincial governmemt has over gambling. Online gambling is a far better. I plan on making up business cards and going to our local casino and handing them out. I have been in the industry for at least 20 years now. One final note i do operate my own casino as well. Thanks, a very interesting discussion. greek39
