well I really hope it doesn’t come to any of this, but lets face it – if these programs are allowed to chisel us down again and again, sooner or later we’re going to reach a point where this niche is no longer profitable enough for us to feel its worth the extra effort, money and possible legal hassles.
I also truly hope that the programs in question are reading this and choose to NOT make us force our hands.
Hell I don’t want to be hard to get along with: but at the same time I expect of people how I treat them in return. And I keep my word to the best of my ability and I certainly do not and will never be so blatantly wrong and not attempt to do something to make it right, if not for the sake of those I’ve wronged, then for the sake of my soul, and the sake of walking amongst ANYBODY in the world and holding my head high because I know I’ve always tried to do the right thing, and when I failed at that; that I did my best to make up for things.
There would be no winners if we were all forced to put up a section on our valuable advertising space that proclaims “WARNING! these casinos are known to NOT honor financial obligations! casino A. casino b. casino c. (insert your casino’s name here if applicable)”.
And these programs are nearly guaranteeing this will happen if they continue because they’re leaving us 2 choices. Fight now, while we still have ground to hold. Ignore the problem and watch as the rest of the industry falls suit.
I cannot urge everyone strongly enough that we make an impact felt before we all end up on some kind of CPA deal which will make it impossible for anybody to compete with the casinos on buying ad space.
Its a slippery slope and I beg everyone to make their stand now. If its any consolation its going to hurt me very much as some of these programs are very lucrative for me.
And I don’t think calling the affiliate programs rogue will be sufficient. You badmouth the casino and there will be attention given. Hell some of these places have already begun to distance themselves from their affiliate side; so don’t let that fool you. Point at the casino; not the affiliate program and you’ll be heard and you’ll see action.
again, I hope and pray it doesn’t come to any of this; but just because I don’t want to be the type to play hardball doesn’t mean I am not smart enough to play the game with the best of them. I think this is true for many, many affiliates.
