Good luck Randy – you cant beat working for yourself. Two things i’d add from several years experiences working for myself, and often alone with no-one to bounce ideas off:
Firstly, setting yourself targets (maybe monthly) can really help as after a while you can easily get side-tracked and lose focus.
Secondly, always keep an eye on the future – the online world changes fast and you need to keep some sort of security/pension/rainy day fund going – particularly as in the affiliate business you are largely dependent on other peoples decisions. You never know what legislation/changes are around the corner. I’ve worked for myself in three businesses and each has gone sharply upwards at some stage only to be tempered suddenly by market forces outside of my control. And those businesses are in what you would probably call much “safer” areas than affiliate marketing. My advice would be to live life using only 50% max. of what you make so you have some leverage in harder times.
Little things like Visa stopping online casino transactions could in theory really have a dramatic effect on a business and you need to be ready for those sorts of things.
