Hi Chris
This is a very professional Prima skin that my contemporaries at http://www.mypokerprofits.com have offered your friend Allan.
The site is a mirror in terms of structure of most Prima sites, so the structure and basic content can’t be flawed.
The creative design is also professional, and inspires credibility.
Its a pity that the domain name leveraged the brand equity already built up by http://www.royalvegaspoker.com :terms: , although its a clever guerilla marketing tactic. Those wild Kiwi’s from http://www.mypokerprofits.com down under have no shame .
Ok, on a more serious note….
Pro’s include:
– Allan can give the impression to poker players who’ve played at all the ‘big-boy’ poker rooms, that they are new on the block – and entice them in to sign-up as new players.
– All support is outsourced and driven by Prima
– This will offer Allen higher than average profit margins
– These profits should be reinvested into focused marketing campaigns to generate max traffic
however,
Con’s include:
– The brand is not well known and will require aggressive marketing & spend to raise their profile in the market
– Without an established brand to leverage, player volumes will never reach significant levels
Assuming Allan does not have ready access to millions of dollars to pump into TV advertising, his most cost effective delivery and marketing channel will be through affiliates and PPC.
The rev-share nature of dealing with affiliates will be relatively expensive, but a greater challenge will remain. That is – gaining & keeping effective shelf-space for his banners and links, while he competes with all the existing branded and established poker rooms on the market.
If I was an affiliate with an existing portfolio of 4-8 poker rooms that I’ve listed, I would need to be persuaded somehow to introduce this new and unproven ‘stock’.
What is Allan’s pitch? What can Allan offer his affiliate network when existing poker rooms (who invest heavily in brand TV advertising) can offer:
1. higher brand-player recognition & traffic volumes
2. in turn, higher player conversions from free-money to raking accounts
3. higher player retention levels driven by large teams of promotion and retention experts usually employed by poker rooms
I believe SEO holds the key for Allan. This is a specialized skill and field that can deliver the traffic, which in turn can begin to build brand recognition and generate decent traffic levels and revenue.
Best regards
Brad
