maybe I got the domain name wrong. The spam led me to beleive that if I typed in that – that i’d end up at the site.
I’ll go play a tourney and see if I don’t get spammed. they’re pretty good about covering territory. It shouldn’t take me too long to confirm the name.
In response to shutting off chat; well to me that is not the option I’d want to choose, as I very much like chatting with SOME of the players; others of course, I wish I could never hear.
And speaking from what I have observed; it appears that there are quite a few people who know each other; that actually stop in to where the game is going on; to just say hello to each other; or to brag about their latest big win.
These people I’m sure don’t want to give up what they’ve got now; and I’d bet that PP doesn’t want things to come to that either. People join poker rooms for more reasons than just because they have a lot of players. As time goes by, PP will see a leveling out of their current big crowd. or perhaps better said, they will see their competitor’s numbers catching up.
That I think should be expected when you take into consideration what a boom PP has enjoyed recent years. In fact, I think its unavoidable.
But if things are allowed to degenerate to the point where players have to shut off all outside chat in order to be able to escape the spam, that IMHO will be a good way to lose the kind of players that again IMHO; an owner would want the most.
*sidenote: I tried making this point to Prima Poker via CR: as Prima is excellent in alienating these types of players. It remains to be seen if they make any changes, but judging from my income from Prima, I’d say they’ve done nothing to improve the status quo.
