well I know for a fact that the programs advertised, tropez and that bunch; were approached about this affiliate’s methods because of concern of getting banned for being duplicate sites; and the affiliate who brought this to their attention was told (basically – and please correct me if I state this wrong dear affiliate) but was told basically that nothing was going to be done about it.
You know I don’t say much about a lot of the sneaky, underhanded stuff that goes on (at least as much as I’d like) and that would include if this was just about stealing traffic off the SEs which is trying to find your/my site, but when you’re talking mass penalization because of duplication, that’s BS and needs to be forced to an action IMHO.
while I do believe that google and other SEs will eventually start taking note of what content appeared where first: I think it will not happen until this has become a problem amongst more traditional niches that harbor less controversy.
By then a good many of you may be gone. (I say you because I don’t get much free traffic anyway).
Its just total and complete underhandedness IMHO and that outrages me. Whether the intent is to get your sites banned for duplicated content; or some other more noble reason, the fact still remains that even a dummy like me knows that duplicated sites get banned; so its not like they did this without some kind of idea of what the repercussions might be.
