The type of collusion described in that article would be easy to detect, I think, especially if the robots were playing multiple seats and making decisions based on their knowledge of the other robots’ hands.
I’ve also read one case where a person had designed his own “pokertracker” type software to track his opponents’ play, at the poker room software detected it and he had his account with the poker room shut down.
We’re probably looking at an “arms race” of sorts between hackers and poker rooms.
