Hey Guys,
It’s me…..the famous Pink Bunny. The auction closed today with no bids. I have to say though that I really did not expect to get any as the price was set very high. Hey if Golden Palace would have bit………..by all means I would have been there…………..and stand by because you may not have heard the end of the Pink Bunny saga yet.
Needless to say though it did open up some dialogue with several other companies about sponsoring the Pink Bunny in some of the larger tournaments coming up.
Now just to share with the group why I did this. Number one I though it would fun if it did actually close. And in reality I still think it is a brilliant idea. You could essentially brand the Pink Bunny just like Golden Palace has branded the streaker. Imagine if the Pink Bunny made appearances at all the major tournaments, or if I actually did play for a month in Vegas and blog about it every night. blah blah blah, possibilities are endless.
With that said as well, I got a very healthy return on the auction and the press releases from just book sales alone. I was able to give alot of exposure to Party Riches and continue branding myself as well as my book. I may relist the auction, but I will do it at a lower cost and probably with a different approach than 30 days in Vegas.
At the end of the day this was a very successful 10 day marketing campaign for me. One of the things I have been trying to do with my affiliate business over the past year is to “think outside the box”. Too many new affiliates get to a comfortable income level and then stop trying new ideas. Most of my success as an affiliate has come from doing out of the ordinary things and especially marketing to a specific niche.
Alot of people (mostly) non affiliate poker players will flame the whole Pink Bunny idea, but…………….. that’s why I make over 100K promoting poker and many of them lose thousands playing the game 😮 Believe me, I’ve tried that route, and I have found that promoting affiliate programs is a bit more lucrative (for me at least) than grinding it out at the tables.
I would be interested to hear all your thoughts on the concept and what transpired for 10 days with the Buzz on this as well as PR’s. FWIW if you have never done press release, you should seriously consider incorporating this into your business plans. It’s a great way to compliment you SEO strategy as well as branding and increasing awareness for your products.
