It totally brings me up to speed. You must understand there was so much BS going on over there at the time that there was no way I was going to wade thru it all.
It was however very hard not to read the headlines and of course, as you said, the insinuations.
You have taken time to write to me, and now I will also take time to explain myself (in further detail, as I seem to be being misunderstood)
I swear to you that it was as I understood it from what I read; and this one area I did try to keep up on; was my understanding that what was charged was true.
Dom, I respect you more now than ever simply for the fact that you’ve stuck up for Focal when you DIDN’T have anything on the side with them. That was my point of this post.
I never challenged what I was lead to think to be true simply because … lets face it: why on earth would anybody otherwise stick up for this program because it truly does suck from an affs pov; and I say that not just from my own opinion, but rather from the majority of my peers to whom I’ve asked. You’re own addmission that you too are not happy with them only adds fuel to that fire; so I’ll let that part go summing it up as we are agreed on the part about the fact that they are disappointing
Now an explanation to you.
If it seems like I’ve picked on Focal more than any others, it is simply because I feel the surest about what I say. In other words, when I decided that I thought golden star sucked, (and this after giving them, or anybody I decide to try, the better spots on my sites as a fair go at things)…
well I took them off my sites and I feel I was and still am vocal about their poor production.
but perhaps not as much as Focal but only because it either hasn’t come up as much lately, or in the case of some programs because I know I gave them a “one shot try – meaning about 6 months – and quit on them”
so I felt I had less right to bitch about them.
It isn’t hard for me to judge a program because I am basically nothing more than a middle man. One so poor at his ability to design a pleasant site that I make up for it by being a bulldog for my players and even to the point of guaranteeing their deposits (a small amount) as an effort to prove I deserve my surfer’s loyalty.
but basically aside from that; all I am is a guy that sets up his t-shirt business from the back of a truck while parked next to some of the nicest stores in the world.
I’m realistic. to quote Dirty Harry “a man’s got to know his limitations”.
I know mine.
I’m sincere, I can write. but I ain’t no picaso at websites.
so my point is; is that basically I just lay the product out on a plain table with no frills. My surfers will buy the product regardless of how it looks in its package because they are trusting me, not the product.
If I say its good, then it better be good.
otherwise I’m dead in the water. I’m sure of that as I’m sure the sun will rise tomorrow.
So when I give such heart felt reviews, and in the case of Focal more than any other property if you were to use the equation of
time promoted + heart-spoken reviews (and chats with fellow poker players – something I did so much of; that it got my chat turned off at the Prima Poker room), I just liked the poker room that much
I could go on and on but I think you get my point.
If I’m most adamant about this program, its because I have most reason to be adamant about it.
btw, don’t think I haven’t addressed all this with the people at Focal at some time or another.
I am most adamant simply because I should be most about them.
now about speaking out against a program. It was my understanding that we’re here to help keep each other from getting it worse than we already would have.
Instead of being like you see the competitors of many other niches will do; and that being, “ha ha, so and so is got ol’ never-makes-a-profit in their best spots…. they’ll learn”.
speaking out against a program that you are already done and thru with; such as I am in this case with Focal; only insures that AT THE VERY LEAST; somebody has to prosper to speak up in a program’s defense.
It sure as heck doesn’t do me any favors what so ever.
If you wanted to get down to it. the old timers who know what’s going on are the ones that benefit when the newbies go running to unprofitable programs.
We’ve paid our dues. right?
well that’s how it comes across sometimes from my pov.
I think a program that earns a bad rep deserves to earn a good rep in the same way they got the bad one. Proving it one aff at a time.
Believe me, I’m in no hurry to look stupid…er than usual. I’m not about to go around parading that “Microgaming casinos suck! they won’t make you any money!” …. even if that was true with me.
Why? because I know a majority of you make money with them. I would look at myself and not elsewhere, as to why I couldn’t make money with a program everybody else was making money.
And the same is true in Focal’s situation. Even if I never promote them again, do you think I’d run around yelling they suck if 10 of you were crying how rich you were getting with them?
I have one agenda while trying to keep my integrity. To make money. I’d kiss a hog’s ass for the right price but ONLY if its understood that I was doing so knowingly. Not that I’d been fooled into it.
So if I was fooled into it; unknowingly… and I then stand up to warn the others behind me, it sure ain’t because I want a shorter line for a second turn at kissing that hog’s ass, now is it?

thanks for setting me straight on the other stuff. believe it or not I never listened to the gossip but as I said it was hard not to see and be a part of at least some it. At least give me credit for admitting when I’m wrong. That’s the best I can do or offer.
