Being from the UK myself, it doesn’t surprise me that the US has the largest poker market. A lot of US players tend to be brought up playing the game from their early years and it’s not the most popular game played over here.
As a kid the only gambling game I played was pontoon, a variation of blackjack. Poker just wasn’t on the cards! (Sorry couldn’t resist.)
I’d say that 95% of my friends wouldn’t know where to start playing poker although it started to be televised a few years ago on satellite so is slowly building up a loyal following.
The UK market, although fairly strong will never be close to the US.
