Online gambling has never been illegal in the US – and probably never will be unless the Wire Act is amended, you can just about forget any possibility of new legislation.
Some states may have declared online gambling illegal – if that is the case, players in that state must take their own precautions. Like with anything else, pleading ignorance will get you nowhere.
