I have attended NUMEROUS conferences and events and organized a get together of over 60 people in Miami a few months ago. We will be having ANOTHER Miami Spring Break again next year. I would DEFINATELY be in Las Vegas at this event if I werent on a cruise that week for my mother’s birthday. Next year I have every intention of being in Vegas.
I am sorry to snap at you but comments like :
” don’t think flying across the world / or nation to sit down and have a beer with someone – no a group of people for 2 hours is justified by $550 + all the shaving!”
“If you wanted to get right down to it, though I’ve never been, I cannot think of one positive reason for going that would justify spending the money. (though I would like to meet some of the people from here in person)
If you can’t network using the same means we all use the other 359 days of the year, then you likely aren’t going to make any kind of better impression in person.

struck me as negative and probably a cold bucket of water thrown on all the people who are going and are excited to see their friends and party a little. That may not have been your intent and if so I appologize.
