This reminds me. The first time I ever tried the stock market I tried an IPO. I dont remember what stock it was, I just wanted to get in because IPOs were the cool thing. By the time my market order went through the stock had gone up 30% or so. The stock never went up after that, it stayed that way for a long time and then gradually it went down. I held on way too long thinking i could at least recoup my money. I think I spent 5k and walked away with 20% of that.
