I agree entirely. I think a lot of affiliates are afraid of speaking out because the program has the upper hand. If the program wants they can withhold payments, or cause ‘errors’ in the tracking.
I’m going to offer my personal opinion as to why referback’s policy was introduced, it might be wrong or it might be right but it’s mine.
Historically speaking referbacks largest affiliates relied on advertising and for the most part exclusively PPC advertising. Those same affiliates are now no where to be found. I’m sure that a lot of affiliates earning 30 or 35% commission off residuals are not sending any new players. This is an easy excuse to pay 20% instead of 35%. The savings on that are immense. This is especially true when the earnings are 5 or 6 figures.
