I just picked you Dom cause I like to keep you in the limelight.
Gee, it seems I don’t need a lot of help with that!
Sometimes what sounds like a warning shot is just a falling branch in the woods.
There are definitely programs that do fire off warning shots, some quietly and some actually tell you. I have had someone tell me in person that they would love to have me increase exposure and would happily treat me like a queen if I did, but they just can’t waste resources otherwise. After that revenue just dried up as I didn’t increase exposure. This program obviously never will get exposure from me.
I do something that most webmasters do not do and actually most people in the industry frown on it – over the years I develop loyalties. When a program or person repeatedly impresses me with forthrightness, I reward it. I do this in real life as well as on the net, and it has worked for me most of the time.
That may not always be the most profitable way to go, but is a way to exist in this industry without constantly looking over my shoulder. And I do ok.
I also do not accuse programs by name of things unless I have proof that they are actually doing what I may suspect.
Precisely because I am a lot in the “lime light” I take into consideration that I may be causing unwarranted damage. It is way too easy to destroy a reputation, and doing so without facts and proof is not professional. I should know, I have been prey to that.
Twice I have spoken out emphatically against a program, both times with very good reason. Both times I kept it within the privacy of the webmaster community, despite not lacking proof of bad behavior.
Publishing pertinent correspondence and statistics is one thing – it is proof in and of itself. Especially if it is timely. Telling of an experience that one has proof to back up is good too. But accusations of things one may suspect have no place in public. They should be dealt with by talking to the program directly. Newbies can always ask seniors for help with that.
I really like it when tactics of how we are cheated are exposed, but for obvious reasons this should be kept in the private section. No point in giving some people new ideas.
For those who do not have access yet, I happily discuss various programs in pms and privacy with anyone, and people do make use of that. I know a lot of the other seniors will happily do the same.
Not to get off topic, but I have a newb question. Dom made reference to player forums, what are some of the more popular player forums out there?
Hi there,
There is http://www.casinomeister.com , http://www.got2bet.com , http://www.winneronline.com and http://www.bet2gamble.com .
These are the major player forums, and each has a different tone and attitude.
