I recently got jumped by a trojan via direct x that was a pop up killer – and it did kill everything that popped up – except for its own ads which it spawned incessantly.
None of the free programs would get rid of it – I finally purchased aluria spyware remover and that did it.
These trojans are getting to be a real problem.
