DISASTERS
These things happend quite freaquently with Affiliate Programs or any other sites. Its the size problem, the more users you have, the higher risk of hacking/attacking your site is facing.
And no site can be 100% prepared for this. They come up with new ways of attacks that are impossible to keep up with.
There are a few things that an affiliate manager should do in such cases.
1. Think of temporary solution if possible.
2. Notify all affiliates (who is affected) that there is a problem, and mention the temporary solution.
3. Don’t go home untill the problem is fixed.
4. Once its fixed, notify all affiliates that the matter has been resolved.
It looks like it took 3-4 days to fix the problem. I guess its not that bad. But could be done faster ofcourse.
