I also wanted to share some great information from an article that we launched this morning on this topic, in particular to Facebook. If you check-out slide 16- it goes into a how-to in reverse, and totally calls out something I see all the time. Whether it’s on Facebook, or other communities, newcomers can’t just “barge” in and start selling their product or service. I’m sorry… but I’ve only seen this backfire. Or am I wrong?
It is integral to build a reputation with a community first. Actually talk to people and interact with them. Ask questions that you sincerely want answers on, and answer other people’s questions if you have a solution or expertise in that area.
