Yes – but only as a tertiary browser – and in fact I use it for one of the reasons that you list as a “con”.
I utilise the fact that Google is watching, and visit all my freshly created pages each day, and then terminate the browser session, so that Chrome will send all the new URLs up to Google.

I have no proof that this actually works – although my new pages do get indexed fast – and I like the theory behind it …
