Bob, I would humbly suggest that the problem is not in the appointment of Jason (who is perhaps not such a global rockstar after all) but rather the manner and theme of the posts.
Your initial post was trite and in no way apologetic or acknowledging the obvious flop that CAP Sprink break in Cancun has been. You may not think so – but as you were not there – you’d do better to pay attention to the views of the paying punters that did attend and feel let down.
Yes you’ve only been in the job 26 days – no-one was shooting at you – but don’t try to pretend that CAP spring break was being sold as a casual NOTWORK event. It was not. We’ve already seen apologies from Warren Jolly saying that CAP stuffed up.
As for the subsequent posts, they seem bombastic, obnoxious, and so full of yourself and your “friends”, that it’s managing to rub forum members up the wrong way, despite the fact that essentially the additional moderators are positive news.
It was/is coming over as “BIG me – little you”. Was that what you REALLY wanted to do – to belittle existing members and contributors?
As a marketter you’ll know that different styles work best with different mediums, and I suspect that if you’d said this sort of stuff in a face to face conversation then the message would have been modified by your body language and expressions and people would have seen that you were not trying to be such a pain – but to accentuate positive moves.
But as a written piece in a community forum you come over as the aggressive, hard sell, full of bullsh!t, marketting dickhead that we usually hang up on when they cold-call us on the phone to sell.
Modify the tone Bob – this is not a newsletter. This is an interactive forum that contains a wide variety of readers – some of whom may even be older and wiser than yourself.
:hattip:
I’m prepared to give you a break as we learn to get used to you and your style – but are you prepared to believe that some of us here might also know a trick or two as well?
