Yeah ,whenever the feds want an excuse for excess they come up with a boogieman.
In the forties it was Nazis or Japs (their term) behind every tree waiting to destroy us.
In the fifties and sixties it was Commies and the Red Menace that we had to be “protected” from at all costs.
In the seventies and eighties it was drug dealers who we needed to “weed” out so more freedoms and rights for ordinary citizens were taken away “for the good of the country!”
Just say No!
The nineties we didnt need a boogieman because the Democrats held sway. The closest we got was a war on Presidential female aides and cigars.
The last eight years the “menace” has been Al Quida and terrorists who seemingly are everywhere there is oil or muslims. Why havent they closed all the convenience stores yet one wonders?
Propoganda and excuses to limit our freedoms arent new. They just changes faces every decade or so. Its our turn on the whipping post now. (Kinda like CAP in some circles I guess)
